About Me

Hello everyone! I am so glad that you took the time to visit my blog! I am new to blogging, but I am going at it full force. I absolutely LOVE blogging and I thank my friend, Kerri (check her out at Ms. Kerri and her Krazy Kindergarten), for helping me/inspiring me to learn more about this wonderful new technology experience! I also want to thank Lacey (at Wild About Teaching) for helping me in soooo many technical ways to get my blog up and running! I have to say that I have NEVER encountered a group of such giving, sharing, pleasant people as my fellow bloggers have turned out to be! They inspire me to grow in my profession and share what I have learned (the way they do!) A little about me...I have been teaching about 9 years now. It has always been my calling. I took a couple of detours in the form of twins and a son in the span of about 2 1/2 years and then another daughter 10 years later! My twins are now 24 and both married, son just graduated, and youngest daughter about to begin 7th grade! Wow, I am getting old! LOL Although I did start having kids when I was 4....LOL Seriously, I am married to my soul-mate. He is the one for me! I couldn't ask for a better husband and best friend! I have been a middle school teacher most of my teaching years, but 2 years ago I was asked to fill a gap in 5th grade. I was devastated! I thought teaching 7/8th Literature was my calling! I cried for one whole day and then put my big girl panties on and became a 5th grade teacher the next day! I have loved it ever since! It is harder because we are self-contained and I now teach 6 subjects instead of 1! There are good and not-so-good qualities to both grades...but my mission is to do my best at whatever level I am placed :) So far...so good! I love Pinterest and blogging. I follow so many people with so many good ideas! Sometimes it is hard to organize all this good info! Anyway, I am going to spend my summer preparing for next year and learning more about blogging! I hope to hear from you!

  1. I saw your picture of driving through the Smokies. Do you live in TN? I am self-contained, also and it is definitely harder, but you can integrate more and make deeper connections with your kids!

    I am your new follower!
